Terms of use
Last updated: October 8, 2026
The short version
- Heyimokay is free and provided as is.
- It is not an emergency service. Nobody monitors it around the clock, and we can’t guarantee that every alert is sent or arrives.
- In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
About these terms
These terms apply to the Heyimokay app and to heyimokay.com, provided by C. Kerger, San Francisco, California, USA (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Heyimokay, you agree to them.
What Heyimokay does
Heyimokay asks the person who lives alone to tap “I’m okay” during two check-in windows a day. If a window closes without a check-in, it sends an alert by text message and email to up to six people they have chosen.
Heyimokay is not an emergency service
- We don’t monitor anyone, detect falls, or contact emergency services.
- Alerts depend on things outside our control, such as your phone being on, charged and connected, the app being allowed to run, and mobile and email networks delivering messages. Alerts can be delayed or fail.
- Don’t rely on Heyimokay as your only way to get help. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Your responsibilities
- Only add people who have agreed to receive alerts, and use their correct phone numbers and email addresses.
- Keep the app installed and your phone charged and connected, and use pause mode when you are away.
- Don’t use Heyimokay to send unwanted messages, to harass anyone, or for anything unlawful.
Downloading the app
Download Heyimokay only from heyimokay.com. Installing an app from outside Google Play means allowing your browser to install apps, which you do at your own discretion.
Price
Heyimokay is currently free of charge.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what data Heyimokay stores and how to have it deleted.
No warranty
Heyimokay is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for harm resulting from an alert that was not sent, was delayed, or was not acted on. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and ending
We may change or stop Heyimokay, and we may update these terms; the date at the top of this page shows the latest version. You can stop using Heyimokay at any time and ask us to delete your data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, except where the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be waived.
