Privacy policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
The short version
- The app stores the names, phone numbers and email addresses of the people in your circle, and your check-in times.
- We use them only to send alerts by text message and email when a check-in is missed.
- No sign-in, no location tracking, no ads, and we never sell your data.
- Data is stored in the United States. Email info@heyimokay.com to have it deleted.
Who we are
Heyimokay is run by C. Kerger, an individual based in San Francisco, California, USA (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@heyimokay.com.
What the app stores
When you set up Heyimokay, the app sends the following to our server in the United States:
- Your circle: the names, mobile phone numbers and email addresses of the people you add (up to six).
- Your check-ins: your check-in windows, the times you check in, missed check-ins, and whether pause mode is on.
There is no account and no sign-in, so we don’t ask for a password or your own email address.
The app does not collect your location, your messages, calls or other apps, or any health or activity data.
How we use it
We use this information only to:
- notice when a check-in window closes without a check-in;
- send alerts to your circle by text message (SMS) and email from our server;
- reply when you contact us.
We don’t use it for advertising, we don’t build profiles, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.
Who can see it
- Your circle. When a check-in is missed, everyone in your circle receives the same alert.
- Service providers. Our server is hosted in the United States and uses messaging and email services, and the mobile networks that carry messages, to deliver alerts. They handle the data only to provide those services.
- When the law requires it. We may disclose information if we are legally required to.
This website
- Hosting. heyimokay.com is hosted by Netlify, which processes visitors’ IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Fonts. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics. We count visits with Ahrefs Web Analytics, which doesn’t set cookies and gives us aggregated statistics such as page views and the sites visitors come from.
- Google Analytics. If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, we use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand how the site is used, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location. If you decline, Google Analytics isn’t loaded. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of each page.
We don’t use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your circle’s details and your check-in history until you ask us to delete them. When you do, we delete them from our server.
Deleting your data and your rights
To delete your data, email info@heyimokay.com and include the phone number or email address the request is about. People in your circle can ask us in the same way to remove their details or stop receiving alerts. You can also ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. We reply within 24 hours and complete requests within 30 days.
- California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it and to correct it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising.
- Residents of the EU, EEA and UK have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability, and can complain to their data protection authority. We process app data to provide the service you ask for, and use Google Analytics cookies only with your consent. Because our server is in the United States, your data is transferred there.
Adding people to your circle
Only add people who have agreed to receive alerts from Heyimokay about you.
Children
Heyimokay is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we’ll also say so on the home page.
